Rogue Wave on Nic Harcourt’s “Transmissions”

Curated by WorldArts, Nic Harcourt’s new series TRANSMISSIONS invites his audience to up-close and unique performances from his (and our) favorite artists. For June’s bi-monthly offering, the legendary radio personality selected Rogue Wave to perform three tracks from their April release Delusions of Grand Fur and participate in a round of “21 Questions,” in which Harcourt aims to isolate the derivative of passion behind a musician.

This segment of Nic Harcourt’s TRANSMISSIONS sees Rogue Wave drop more than half of its recording band, leaving vocalist and guitarist Zach Rogue and drummer Pat Spurgeon to guide the session on their own. Considering the sparseness of instrumentation throughout the performance, Rogue Wave evades sounding like your typical acoustic set and offers the same full-bodied and transformative sound as heard on Delusions of Grand Fur. The duo’s lush (yet poignant) style is an ideal addition to the TRANSMISSIONS series. Check out the performances of “Ocean,” “Look at Me,” and “Falling,” as well as the “21 Questions” segment, below.
