Guitarist and vocalist Ian St. Pé spent a decade performing with Atlanta garage punk band Black Lips, but parted ways with the outfit in 2014, moved to Nashville, and began his solo project, known simply as Saint Pé. His debut record, Fixed Focus, was released in 2017 via Ernest Jenning Record Co.

Now, Saint Pé has announced a brand new EP called Through thé Light, taken from a forthcoming nine-song album of the same name. Ian wrote and recorded all the tracks himself, and they were mixed by Ben Etter (who did Deerhunter’s last two albums) and mastered by Bernie Grundman.

Ian describes Through thé Light as “a Life Collective Perspective Record taken from the time frame between one’s heart stopping and one’s mind ceasing, known as CSD (cortical spreading depression). This EP highlights four from the journey.”

You can listen to the EP’s first track, the grungy “All in a Day,” below.
