Tame Impala have returned with the latest sounds from their forthcoming full-length, The Slow Rush, which find the band venturing even further into the psychedelic soundscapes explored on recent singles “It Might Be Time” and “Borderline.” Lyrically, this tune reads as an ode to Kevin Parker’s late father, who died in 2009.

Parker and company will release The Slow Rush on Valentine’s Day (February 14) of next year, almost five years after the release of Currents in 2015. “The way I’ve dabbled in influences in the past? I’ve been unafraid to go there all the way this time. To challenge what Tame Impala is in terms of how wide it can go,” Parker told Rolling Stone about what fans can expect when The Slow Rush lands. “I’ve been embracing my love of weird ’70s stadium rock, like, epic Meat Loaf stuff.”
