After a brief stint on Sub Pop, Atlanta rockers Arbor Labor Union are keeping it local on their follow up to 2016’s I Hear You, releasing New Petal Instants through the Athens-based label Arrowhawk Records. Early singles “Flowerhead” and “Crushed By Fear Destroyer” have already placed them in the same arena as fellow statesmen Black Lips, with—to paraphrase the band—a little more Minutemen post-hardcore and CCR roots rock.

Today the band is dropping yet another single prior to NPI’s release this Friday, leaning much more heavily on their Creedence influence. “Give Us the Light” compacts an epic guitar jam into a relatively brief four and a half minutes, giving off the sense of building up to a grand finale while, in reality, taking a leisurely float down a lazy river of crisp Americana. Stream the track below a few days before the full record is revealed.

New Petal Instants is out Friday, February 7, via Arrowhead Records. You can pre-order it here.
