Yes, our age may be pathetic, but at least it’s brought us a DJ Shadow revival. The Bay Area plunderphoenician made a big return in 2016 with the help of another resurrected early-aughts underground phenom, El-P, with Shadow’s Run the Jewels collaboration “Nobody Speak” ruling the airwaves for an entire summer. Three years later and the two teamed up again on Shadow’s successive LP Our Pathetic Age along with, well, pretty much everyone else.

While OPA has been out since November, Shadow’s re-upping the stellar title track, which features the inimitable vocals of Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring, with an animated video which, alas, does not feature the inimitable dance moves of Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring. Instead, we get four-and-a-half minutes of pop ups on what looks like a cartoon Windows 95 operating system. Regardless of the OS, it’s a stress familiar to all of us.

Watch it below. Our Pathetic Age is out now on Mass Appeal.
