As you (hopefully) know, tomorrow is Super Tuesday. The fate of the free world hangs in the balance of our 2020 election. But it’s not really a big deal.
Thanks to a PSA directed by Mariko Munro and written by Elaine Kahn, we now know where Sonic Youth founding member Kim Gordon stands politically (and morally). In the video, Gordon takes a bunch of delicious ingredients—Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, banning for-profit prisons, the cancellation of student debt, women having rights—and bakes them into a cake. When the cake is finished, it reads “Bernie.”
Kim’s first solo LP under her own name, No Home Record, came out last October. But clearly, she’s interested in things happening off-stage too. Want a recipe for a better future? Then go out and cast your vote tomorrow.
