Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino took to Instagram last night to share the news that her cat Snacks has passed away. Snacks was the album cover star for the band's 2010 debut Crazy for You, as well as Wavves' album of the same year King of the Beach.
"I said goodbye to my best friend in the world today," Cosentino wrote on Instagram. "My son. My guardian Angel. I am forever changed because of him. He will live on forever in the legacy he created by just simply being himself. I will miss him so much, but I am so grateful to have had him around for such a long time. My biggest teacher in life. Long live Snacks the cat."
Wavves frontman Nathan Williams also took to the ’Gram with photos and the caption: "Words can’t express what this little guy means to me. I’m not going to wax poetic. Short and sweet here. I’ll see you on the other side brother."
Cosentino explained that she adopted Snacks as Best Coast was starting to take off. A family member and inspiration to big names in the 2010s West Coast garage rock scene, his legend will never be forgotten. RIP Snacks.
