Experimental Los Angeles producer Shlohmo (a.k.a. Henry Laufer) has shared a new track from his upcoming new record Dark Red, the dreamy, frantic “Beams.” This latest song, which follows previous singles “Emerge from Smoke” and “Buried,” starts with a loop of soft chimes and a slow, bubbling synth, and escalates into a rapid, euphoric race to the finish.

The video for “Beams,” a series of iPhone-captured youthful misadventures edited into a fever dream, was directed by Jack Irving, who Laufer’s WeDidIt cofounder Nick Melons found on Vine.

Shlohmo has also announced that he’ll be playing at SXSW at the House of Vans on March 21 as part of the WeDidIt showcase. If you miss him there, you can catch him on his upcoming tour.

Dark Red is out April 7 on True Panther.
