Mdou Moctar released their album Afrique Victime just under a year ago, and today the Nigerian guitar-heavy rock group announced the deluxe version of that project which features nine previously unreleased songs. The first new track we get to hear is called "Nakanegh Dich," which was recorded in Los Angeles during the album sessions with Rob Schnapf.

“These are a mix of demos from Niger and some live tracks from touring around the world, when we were still working out the songs together as a band,” bassist and producer Mikey Coltun said. “These are fun and different early versions of the songs.”

He later noted, “This is Mdou's very first time using a wah pedal. At some point, Mdou called Rob into the studio and asked him to control the wah with his foot while Mdou shredded a solo.”

Listen to "Nakanegh Dich" below ahead of the deluxe album's release this Thursday. You can also check out their upcoming tour dates, including a handful with Parquet Courts, here.
