Some of my favorite memories are associated with hearing a band for the first time—a warble of new sounds fucking with my neurotransmitters like never before. Scottish dream-pop trio Cocteau Twins were definitely one of those unforgettable brain-rearranging revelations pour moi, even though most of the time I had no idea what the hell they were saying (which seems to be the case for many people). And for those of us clamoring onto any new releases from vocalist Elizabeth Fraser since their disbandment in 1997, well, there's another on the way!

Fraser is releasing her first new music in 13 years for Record Store Day as Sun's Signature, which is the project with her partner Damon Reece, who's played with bands such as Spiritualized and Echo & the Bunnymen. Album opener "Underwater" shares the name of a single she first released in 2000, while "Golden Air" and "Make Lovely the Day" are tracks she's performed life. The EP is limited to 8,000 copies that will be distributed worldwide for Record Store Day on April 23.
