Today, Tampa Bay duo They Hate Change announced their forthcoming album Finally, New, which is their first for Jagjaguwar and the follow-up to the 2020 EP 666 Central Ave. The announcement comes with the DJ GAY-Z-featuring single "From the Floor" and a video.

Dre and Vonne shared that the track is "an ode to Florida car culture, parking lot Electro parties, Miami Bass and Breakbeat Hardcore. We play narrator roles in the video, describing the scene as spectators, admirers, and occasional participants, while our unnamed main character plays it cool behind the wheel, unbothered by the party springing up around his classic Chevy. The sound and look for a modern Florida, for 2022 and beyond.”

The visual shows They Hate Change and friends chilling, dancing, and vibing in a parking lot. "Donks out, when we ride slow you see the paint glow," Vonne raps, as a thwomping bass and slithering hi-hats bustle around the duo's love letter to kickass rides. "From the Floor" is about being seen and becoming the subject of jealous or impressed onlookers. "I know they taking pictures, but I ain’t even tripping," Dre details later. "Ain’t got my windows tinted, so they can see me in it." Staying true to their impressionistic and original blend of genres—drum & bass, bounce music, Southern rap, psych-rock—They Hate Change continue to showcase an exciting perspective in a post-genre world.

In regard to the forthcoming album, Vonne added: "With this album, it's really like, OK, you know how you talk about the internet breaking down borders? Here's what that actually sounds like. It's not just a hip-hop record with a couple more weird sounds. You want homegrown DIY? This is a record that was written, produced, and recorded in a 150-square-foot bedroom from the least cool city you could think of.”
