“The only thing we’re interested in is seeing people and being around music again,” Blake Schwarzenbach recently told us, “so it’s great to have that occasion of this record, which is a record about survival in a lot of ways, and kind of grinding across a hostile landscape.” The record in question is Jawbreaker’s final LP together, Dear You, a project that complicated the legacy of the seminal punk trio. Turning the band into pariahs in punk circles when it was released on a major label back in 1995, it’s since become popular enough to warrant an extremely buzzworthy (belated) 25th anniversary tour that’s currently in progress following the group’s recent reunion at Riot Fest in 2017.
