100 gecs have been hinting at the follow-up to 2019's 1000 gecs for several months. Last November the duo dropped the playful, rabble-rousing single "Mememe," and today Dylan Brady and Laura Les shared another look at their anticipated sophomore album 10000 gecs with the track "Doritos & Fritos."
"Doritos & Fritos" is a punky-ska frenzy with lyrics that shoutout eating burritos with Danny DeVito, joining the circus, and the Greek myth of Medusa. "I went to France to get some new pants / I went to Greece to get something to eat," Les deadpans during the chorus. It sort of sounds like a zany children's rhyme that spirals into a realtime dilemma with the dude behind the deli counter. "He said, 'Shit, all we got's Doritos and Fritos' / I said, 'Then give me all of those fucking Doritos and Fritos,'" Les asserts. I mean, yeah, gimme all those chips, man.
Although 100 gecs' upcoming album doesn't have an official release date yet, the caption for the single's visual hints that it's close: "10000 soon." Check out "Doritos & Fritos" below.
