If you noticed that it took you half as long to commute across LA over the weekend, that’s because half the city’s vehicular population had made its way out east for weekend one of Coachella, the annual—barring global pandemics—music and arts festival that pulls an impressive list of acts every spring after a year or so of drama tied to the constantly changing headline slots.
This year certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, especially with exciting headlining sets by Billie Eilish and Harry Styles—not to mention a dramatic last-minute inclusion of Arcade Fire, who are on the cusp of releasing what is at least the second most anticipated album of the spring, as well as a long list of surprise guests joining peers onstage, including Damon Albarn and De La Soul’s Pos joining Eilish for a rendition of “Feel Good Inc.”
