Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Twin Peaks reboot that we were all dreaming about might not happen. While hopes are still high, last night Fox premiered a trailer for its brand-new series Wayward Pines, which looks like it’s trying to fill that eerie void.
The upcoming series—which features an stacked ensemble cast including Terence Howard, Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, and Toby Jones—was created by Chad Hodge and co-executive produced by the twist master himself, M. Night Shyamalan. Inspired by Blake Crouch’s mystery novel Pines, Wayward Pines follows Ethan Burke (Dillon), a Secret Service agent who stumbles upon a seemingly idyllic town while looking for two missing agents. Behind the plastered smile of each townsperson is an insane amount of fear, due to the fact that they aren’t allowed to leave…and anonymous phone calls that command people to kill plague the community.

But, how are the home prices in the area? What are the public schools like? All of these questions, and probably more about the murder calls, will be answered when the show premieres on Thursday, May 14.
