Earlier this year, Ravyn Lenae hinted at unveiling her anticipated debut album with sultry and psychedelic singles "Light Me Up" and "Skin Tight," the latter of which saw her reunite with Steve Lacy, who worked on her 2018 EP Crush. Today, Lenae confirmed those previous singles weren't one-offs, announcing her debut album Hypnos with another new track titled "M.I.A."
Lenae showcases her vocal dexterity on the new track, shapeshifting from sequined coos into feather-light sighs. "'M.I.A.' is about feeling free and comfortable in your skin," she shared. "It's a peek into my world—the duality of knowing the energy you bring to the world but also being confident in riding solo." The carefree, confident vibe is bolstered by Sango's buoyant, lively production.
