At the beginning of the year, Chan Marshall, a.k.a. Cat Power, released an album of new covers aptly titled Covers, including her takes on artists ranging from Frank Ocean, to Nico, to Iggy Pop. Today, she's released a video for her cover of The Pogues' "A Pair of Brown Eyes" that was directed by Jim Jarmusch.

Jarmusch has worked with a long list of musicians in his films including Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, The White Stripes, and Joe Strummer, and even made music videos for Waits and Jack White's The Raconteurs project. “As someone who deeply loves Cat Power’s music, getting to collaborate with Chan on this video was like a dream come true,” he said about his work with Marshall. “She’s so inspiring to me, of course as an artist, but she’s also just such an extraordinary person.”

The visual for "A Pair of Brown Eyes" was shot in New York City's Blonde Studios. It depicts Marshall playing a small white piano in an endless white room. The video has a haunting quality, as if Marshall is singing the ballad from heaven or some spiritual limbo.
