Last year, electronic duo Purity Ring followed up their 2020 LP WOMB with a one-off single called "soshy," and they've been hinting at a surprise on social media for the past week. Today they've shared another new track called "Graves," along with the announcement that this song is the title track from a forthcoming EP. Graves, which is out June 3, will be their first official release on their own label, The Fellowship.

"Our heads are all ablaze / We're running from our graves," Megan James sings on the track as echoey piano frills and bursting synths follow her morbid words. Despite the nod to death, along with images of faraway fires and seeds that bleed, "Graves" holds Purity Ring's luminous signature sound that contains wonder and excitement in its seams. "This song has been haunting us for eight straight years, so we’re very glad to let it be heard," James said of the track. "We hope it brings you as much joy as it has now brought us."

Accompanying the single is a visual by James that shows trippy, microscopic images of cells. Purity Ring also announced a massive tour, which you can check out dates for here.
