They say that when it rains, it pours. Such is the case for the current output from Jack White. This year he's releasing two albums: Fear of the Dawn (out now) and Entering Heaven Alive (arriving July 22). He's also recently been in the news for proposing to musician Olivia Jean on stage and then moments later getting married.
He talked about the impromptu wedding, as well as his upholstery projects he's worked on throughout the pandemic, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "I thought as the day was going on, if the day had some left turns, maybe it wasn't the right day. But the day kept going so well, I figured it was a good time to do it," he said about the on-stage ceremony. "I asked her, 'Do you want to get married now, or do you want to wait?' And she goes, 'No! Right now. This is a great day,'" he recalled.
White also discussed the unreleased Prince album Camille that he's putting out on his label Third Man Records. He looked back on the time he met the late musician. "'Don't let anyone tell you how to play your guitar' are the actual words," White recalled about advice Prince gave him. And, evidently, he has not let that happen.
