Along for the Ride is a new Netflix movie out this Friday that's described as "swoonworthy," "heartfelt," and "feel-good." The film is based on a 2009 novel by Sara Dessen that's being brought to life on screen by director Sofia Alvarez, with Emma Pasarow, Belmont Cameli, Kate Bosworth, Andie MacDowell, and Dermot Mulroney in starring roles. It turns out that the film's score was composed by dream pop duo Beach House, with vocalist Victoria Legrand evidently following in her uncle's footsteps. Their first score for a film follows their latest album Once Twice Melody.

"Along for the Ride is a movie about teenage insomniacs with much of the action taking place at night," Alvarez shared in a statement via Pitchfork. "Beach House’s dream pop sound is so lucid and nostalgic with an emotional current that buzzes through your body while you listen to it—all things, I was hoping, the movie would evoke as well. It felt like such a perfect fit to me that I would have been devastated if they had not wanted to work on it. Thankfully, they watched an early cut of the film and loved it, allowing me to breathe a huge sigh of relief."

You can hear their music in the trailers below.
