Earlier this year, Triathalon made their Lex Records debut with the chilled-out single “Spin,” a downcast take on summer-night lo-fi that fell right in line with the four records the trio’s released over the past eight years. Today they’re sharing a follow-up single which matches that song’s energy—only after the first three minutes introduce “Time” as a foreboding R&B track. "We wanted to explore both old and new sounds but through a darker lens,” the band shares, noting “Time” was three years in the making. “We hope people get lost in the chaos."
Much like the song, the video the group is sharing with the track makes a dramatic shift at the same moment the music undergoes that change, with the dark-of-night intro soundtracked by the type of offbeat hip-hop sound their new label has come to be known for transitioning to dawn before daylight coincides with the instrumental noodling and softer vocals heard on “Spin.” Check it out below.
