Last month, Nashville-based and Melbourne-bred songwriter Jo Schornikow presented a new tune called “Plaster” from her forthcoming album ALTAR along with a music video that ended with Schornikow standing in front of an ornately decorated pipe organ in a church sanctuary. As if picking up where she left off, today she’s sharing an exclusive performance of another single from that album, “Visions,” from the intimate, candlelit confines of Woodland Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

In stripping the original version of its pop sensibilities matching the nu-Americana of The War on Drugs (Schornikow has also played keys on stage and in the studio with Phosphorescent), this live take on “Visions” has plenty in common with the organ ballads of fellow Aussie Sarah Mary Chadwick. Check out the video shot by Francesco Ferorelli below, and pre-order ALTAR ahead of its May 20 release via Keeled Scales here.
