Last week, word spread about the stacked soundtrack for the forthcoming animated film Minions: The Rise of Gru. The Jack Antonoff–produced project features St. Vincent, Brockhampton, Kali Uchis, Caroline Polachek, Thundercat, Phoebe Bridgers, and more covering '70s classics. The album announcement also noted the inclusion of an original song by Diana Ross and Tame Impala called "Turn up the Sunshine," which was released today.

"Turn Up the Sunshine" is bright and funky. It's destined to be all over the radio with the feel-good chorus: "All around the world we gotta turn up the sunshine." The only notable hint of Tame Impala's Kevin Parker is his silvery backing vocals during the bridge. Otherwise, the joyous summer anthem is centered around Ross doling out uplifting advice: "If this world makes you frown / And some people get you down / Remember, love's like sound / It's better when it's loud." Turn it up!
