UK artist Lil Silva has been working with some incredible collaborators over the past couple decades—Adele, serpentwithfeet, Duval Timothy, Banks, Mark Ronson—but is now ready to release his own debut album. Following last month's single "Backwards" with Sampha, Silva has shared a new song called "Another Sketch" alongside the reveal that his full-length Yesterday Is Heavy will be out July 15. The album also features Little Dragon, Charlotte Day Wilson, serpentwithfeet, BADBADNOTGOOD, and more.

"Another Sketch" opens with glitchy, swerving electronic sounds and a slightly brassy, slightly baritone drumbeat. Silva's lustrous vocals soar high as he sings about human faults and relationships: "Who isn’t to blame? Sure I said the same thing a thousand times / Swear I said the same line I thought I let you know / What is there to change?" Then the track takes on the guise of a skidding 2000s hip-hop beat—all at once, it feels familiar and refreshingly new. A later line hits a bit harder in light of recent violence: "What it is / That we’re tryna leave for our children, here?" Orchestral strings weave through with a sense of righteousness and drama. Even though "Another Sketch" has a hypnotic beat, its emotional pull is strong as a result of Silva's poignant delivery.

The emotions and building tears don't stop there. The video for "Another Sketch," directed by O’Meally, is interwoven with clips of Silva's family, along with scenes of people dancing and a house turned upside down. Those personal family images showcase multiple generations gathering to celebrate their Jamaican heritage. Their voices and laughter light up "Another Sketch."
