I bet you've probably wondered how good indie rock band Pavement is at tennis. Sure, the thought might have passed my mind, and now I have somewhat of an answer. Comedian Tim Heidecker invited the band's Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich to play against himself and Office Hours podcast collaborator Doug “DJ Douggpound” Lussenhop and got it all on video with narration by artist John Lurie. The game's ball boys include Steve West and Vic Berger IV.

The pairs play three sets, which get pretty heated—at one point, Heidecker loses it completely. But the true star of the video is Lurie, providing unforgettable descriptions, recalling the faux-nature-show narration of his cult series Fishing with John, like: "Ball boy Steve West stalks the court like a cheetah, looking to give his bandmates an edge," and "Heidecker doesn't have much gas left in the tank." Oof, that last point was not pretty to watch.
