Last week, the remaining members of Foo Fighters announced a pair of tribute concerts for their late drummer Taylor Hawkins who passed away in March. Today, the initial roster of special guests was announced for both shows—the September 3 concert at London's Wembley Stadium and the September 27 set at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
The LA tribute concert will include Joan Jett, Miley Cyrus, Alanis Morissette, Joshua Homme, Mark Ronson, Gene Simmons, Wolfgang Van Halen, Queen's Brian May, Rush's Geddy Lee, The Struts' Luke Spiller, and Motley Crue’s Nikki Six. The event will additionally feature many of today's most acclaimed drummers with Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Omar Hakim, Rage Against the Machine's Brad Wilk, The Darkness' Rufus Taylor, The Mars Volta's Jon Theodore, and Weezer's Pat Wilson performing.
Meanwhile the London concert lists Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, and Supergrass as performers. It will also feature many of the same artists from the LA show including Chaney, Hakim, Van Halen, Lee, Taylor, May, Ronson, and Homme. More names will be announced for both shows in the coming weeks.
Tickets with both events go on sale June 17 at 9 a.m. local time.
