On her new EP as Doe Paoro, Sonia Kreitzer explores the idea that music can be restorative for both the performer and the listener. With Divine Surrendering being described as “a healing ceremony in EP form” in the project’s press materials, the music immediately reflects that ethos in its country-sourced naturalistic soundscapes. “It’s all about learning to trust life, to trust the medicine of life, to remember that we really don't know anything,” remarked Kreitzer ahead of the record’s release.
For her “Neighborhoods” set, Doe Paoro brought the EP’s title track to a tranquil spot above Lake Arrowhead, a glistening body of water found in Southern California’s San Bernardino Mountains. With piano accompaniment provided by composer Devin Gati, Kreitzer’s vocals feel right at home in the surrounding greenery swaying in the gentle warm breeze. Watch the performance below.
