If you've heard Sudan Archives' music, you'd immediately understand that the talented performer is far from average. And even though it might be obvious to those familiar with her art, her latest single “NBPQ (Topless)” is proof for any naysayers or haters. The third single from her forthcoming album, titled Natural Brown Prom Queen, is a journey through Sudan Archive's past, present, and shining future she's destined to thrive in.

Sudan, who describes this single as her "autobiography," opens the song mentioning the weight of racism and colorism that might make her doubt her access to success in this world. “Sometimes I think that if I was light skin / Then I would get into all the parties," she melodically raps. Despite these mental pitfalls she declares: “I’m not average.”

Later, she discusses her upbringing, how she got into music performing music with her twin sister, and how all she wanted to do was "watch Sailor Moon, smoke weed, and stare up at the moon." She was letting her dreams and ideas marinate, proclaiming "I be seeing things" before announcing: "I'm the natural brown prom queen." All hail.
