It's been two years since Meg Remy—a.k.a. U.S. Girls—dropped her last album Heavy Light. And although there's still no news of the full-length follow-up, we do get a new standalone single today called "So Typically Now." The soulful, synth-laden track featuring powerhouse singer Kyle Kidd comes with a bonkers video that stars joyously dancing construction workers. It's only the second video I can think of that takes the construction site to the next level.

"So Typically Now" opens with a gripping proclamation: "Brooklyn's dead and Kingston's booming." It might be a nod to the great flight of New Yorkers at the beginning of the pandemic. The track is a punchy mix of '80s Madonna, Phil Collins, and Charlotte Gainsbourg coupled with thought-provoking lyricism. There's been talks that the Song of the Summer has yet to arise. Well, here's our potential queen.
