LA psych-rock collective Goon are hot off the release of their latest collection of songs, Hour of Green Evening, which they debuted with us last month. “This definitely is a record we've always wanted to create,” vocalist Kenny Becker shared with us of the debut project from the current iteration of the band, which features a total of eight members in the recording’s credits.
Before the group brings these songs to the Lodge Room stage in Highland Park in September—and then NYC’s Baby’s All Right the following month—Becker and his crew gave us a taste of their live show with a “Neighborhoods” performance featuring the full octet, including a small stringed section. Day turns to night as the psych opus “Bend Back” switches over to the dreamier “Ochre” with the suburban landscapes of Sylmar, California in the background.
