49 years ago, hip-hop was born. It all started with DJ Cool Herc and a birthday party in the Bronx. Decades later it's still one of the most important moments in music history. Today, to celebrate that fateful day, DJ Premier shared a video for "REMY RAP," his collab with Remy Ma and Rapsody from his EP Hip Hop 50: Vol. 1 which dropped last month.
"REMY RAP" highlights two of the most important emcees that continue to showcase their command over their craft years after making a name for themselves. The Maya Table–directed visual pays homage to old school hip-hop with bird's-eye view black-and-white footage, bucket hats, a scratching table, and Cuban link chains.
