In a few months, Sound City will take over the rock-and-roll mecca (and Macca) town of Liverpool for a traditional, stacked music festival (featuring The Flaming Lips, Belle and Sebastian, Dum Dum Girls, Swans, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and a whole lot more), but in addition to that, the affair will also include an accompanying music conference with panels and discussions from notable members of the industry.
The theme for this year’s conference is “The Unsung Hero,” a topic that will be discussed in keynote speeches from Wayne Coyne and Edwyn Collins, planned appearances from The Fall’s Mark E. Smith and The Slit’s Viv Albertine, as well as a discussion panel with The Vaccines’ Justin Young and Freddie Cowan.
You can read more information about this year’s speakers and events here, and tickets for both the conference (May 21–22) and the festival (May 22–24) are on sale now.
