Arctic Monkeys took their time with their last album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, with fans waiting five years for the follow-up to 2013's AM. Now, after four unbelievable years, we're getting another entry in the Arctic Monkeys oeuvre. The band announced that their seventh studio album The Car is due out October 21. The 10 new songs penned by Alex Turner were produced by James Ford and recorded at Butley Priory in Suffolk, RAK Studios in London, and La Frette in Paris.
It's hard not to theorize about the contents of their forthcoming LP, which drops right before a spooky holiday and perhaps coincidently has the same name as a ridiculous '70s horror film directed by Elliot Silverstein about a swanky car that kills a bunch of people. With the heavy concept of their last album, who knows where these rockers' minds are at now.
