It's not every day that we get Beatles news, let alone new releases from the Fab Four. But today it was announced that there's a new deluxe box set of Revolver set for release on October 28. The release includes a new mix of the album by Giles Martin (son of original Beatles producer George Martin) and Sam Okell, accompanied with the original mono mix, a four-track EP, and 31 session takes and home demos. The set also features a 100-page book with a foreword written by Paul McCartney, an essay by Questlove, detailed track notes, photos, and other goodies.

The box set was possible as a result of Peter Jackson’s audio team on the Get Back documentary, who figured out how to isolate vocals from the instrumentals in rehearsal footage. “At the end of last year when I was finishing Get Back, I went, ‘Oh, God, I better listen to these outtakes and start going through them to see whether we’ve got enough to do this,’” Martin told Variety. “Because we always want to make sure that we’re not scraping the bottom of the barrel.”
