Long-standing friends L'Orange and Solemn Brigham continue to grow their craft together through crackling old-school production—courtesy of the former—and formidable lyricism with slick delivery—courtesy of the latter—as the duo Marlowe. Following their tour in the UK supporting 2020's Marlowe 2, the pair felt encouraged to push their music further.

“Spending time in the UK gave us a lot to draw from and made me want to give back to the people who showed love," Brigham said about that trip. "Seeing the effect that we’ve had on people in person gives me the sense that Marlowe is more than just the two of us now and I pull from that as well.” Now, they're preparing to release their third album Marlowe 3 on October 28 via Mello Music Group. Their latest single "Light Trip" is one of the duo's strongest moments to date.

I dare you to not bob your head to this song. Just try. I bet you didn't make it very long. That's because Marlowe are at their tightest, combining Solemn's keep-your-head-high lyrics and the shifting, smooth momentum of L'Orange's beat. The latter claims "Light Trip" as "the showstopper song of this album," explaining how the duo "stopped and collected ourselves to try to get this one exactly right. It’s personal, exciting, and reflects on who we are and where we’re headed."

“‘Light Trip’ is knowing how to navigate with the weight of the world on your shoulders,” Brigham adds. “When I first heard the beat I felt instantly inspired and a bit sentimental as well. It made me think of where we’ve been and everything it took to move forward. I’m trying to express as much as I can while I’m here. You gotta realize even though things seem heavy it’s really just a light trip.”
