In her new video, producer/singer/rapper HAWA shows two vastly different sides of herself. In the first half of the visual for "PROGRESSION," HAWA chats with friend and collaborator Telfar Clemens at a diner about her forthcoming album. The fashion designer greets her with a compliment as he takes a break from eating breakfast: "You look good," he flashes a smile. "I always look good," she beams back. Moments later, she details her preparation for GRAMMY wins. Her confidence is magnetic, and not simple bravado. Later, she takes the stage where a piano sits and gives a vulnerable performance of "PROGRESSION" that feels intimate and somewhat sacred.

"PROGRESSION," which was produced by Anthoine Walters and WAVES, is the second single from her upcoming debut album HADJA BANGOURA that's out November 4 via 4AD. The album's title is the name of the classically trained musician's late great-grandmother. The project was mainly written in Guinea's capital of Conakry, where Hadja lived and HAWA spent lots of time during her childhood.
