2021 was a big year for LA-based, Zimbabwean-Australian musician Tkay Maidza. She released the third and final installment of her Last Year Was Weird EP series, and while promoting that work she opened for mega-popstars Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa. Yesterday, she finally announced the end of this era by sharing a remix of Vol. 3 highlight "High Beams" featuring JPEGMAFIA. She also released a badass motocross visual that shows her rocking three whimsical outfits.

"This year has been a roller-coaster of hi highs & lowest lows," she posted on Instagram. "I feel like I really had to detach alot see beyond what was happening to me in the 3D to imagine a next version with no fear." She added about the song: "'High Beams' is about stepping up and being who you are beyond what people think of you—I like writing from the point of being the underdog because I felt like that my whole life but i always transform and move on. nu era is close—I really wanted to give this to y’all a long time ago but now we hereee!"
