Before there was A Rush of Blood to the Head and Under the Iron Sea there was The Invisible Band—Scottish rockers Travis’ period-defining 2001 LP. For a while that record’s breakout single “Sing” appeared everywhere, from the Mr. Deeds OST to a tender moment shared between Jim and Pam in an early episode of The Office. And now, with that record celebrating its 20th anniversary (well, 21st, though COVID’s made us a little more lenient about this kind of thing), the band are hitting the road this November to commemorate their third studio album.

But ahead of gracing the States next month, the band hyped the tour by performing “Sing” in a bandstand in their native Glasgow for a “Neighborhoods” set. "Kelvingrove Park is one of the best parks in the UK," singer/guitarist Fran Healy revealed. "I walked past this bandstand so many times in the '90s and always thought how cool it would be to play a show there. It now stages many summer shows which is lovely. We asked if we could go here and record a little acoustic set a few months ago. Maybe we come back and play a proper show there one day."

Exchanging the track’s familiar banjo part for a pair of acoustic guitars, the performance sounds as tight as ever, with the video’s final moments revealing a small crowd that’s gathered to watch the national icons. Check it out below, and find their US tour dates here.
