Before there were deepfakes, people simply capitalized on their likeness to a celebrity or historical figure in order to make a few bucks. I mean, life is hard, do what you gotta do, etc. But one doppelgänger has hit a major roadblock. After trying his hand at music with other fake celebrities, and a failed boxing career, Fake Drake has now lost his Instagram handle and name, @IzzyyDrake. The person now known as IzzyyFamous received a cease and desist from the Degrassi-actor-turned-musician.

Yesterday, which also happened to be (real) Drake's birthday, the rapper's doppelgänger posted the letter and changed his Instagram handle to IzzyyFamous. “Happy birthday to the greatest artist in history and my biggest inspiration,” he wrote. “I got this cease and desist letter from OVO [a] couple days ago and as a respectful b-day gift to @champagnepapi I changed my name from IzzyyDrake to Izzyyfamous." Uh, end of an era, I guess?

Some people think mimicry is flattery. Apparently, Drake is not one of them.
