Today, Brooklyn-based quartet Model/Actriz dropped a deliriously high-octane single called "Mosquito." Relentless piano, steam-engine hi-hats, (real) trashcan bangs, and a bassline ready for the kill are the anxious backdrop created by band members Jack Wetmore, Ruben Radlauer, and Aaron Shapiro. Meanwhile Cole Haden comes in with unhinged, ravenous vocals: "Delicious to forget this blood / Plated and cut to forget this blood, oh yes / Delicious, and everything gushing / Ripe and crimson." The song embodies the bloodsucking insect's persistent venture for fleshy connection.

Haden gave a little insight into the new release: ”I realized that overcoming my timidness of proclaiming that truth about myself was coincidentally like clearing a hurdle in resolving this song’s central conflict: to fight the comforts of emotional complacency and choose instead a life that with its greater challenges provides greater rewards.”

The single comes with an equally frantic video by Leia Jospé. Check it out below.
