We might be on the brink of an Eartheater takeover. The confounding pop musician and producer recently announced her attachment to the upcoming debut project from Lolahol after guesting on tracks by Hawa, Rabit, LEYA, and Yung Kayo earlier this year. Today, she returns with more surprises: On November 18, Eartheater is releasing a deluxe version of her 2019 album Trinity. The announcement comes with a hypnotic Doss remix of "High Tide"—one of a handful of remixes tacked onto the reissue's track list.

"Trinity was a natural deposit—a testament to the nature of patient desire and genuine chemistry with my immediate community," Eartheater shared. "It was the first release marking my independence and it transcended in spite of [not] having a traditional campaign or label resources. It spread via word of mouth and romance amongst listeners, and was one of the greatest validations of my journey as an artist. Its effortlessness opened the space for the discipline that was needed for Phoenix, the album that followed it."

Electronic musician Doss turns "High Tide" into a throbbing club hit. The bass is heavy and rounded, while Eartheater's faraway cries are pushed to the front and then sped up. "Like condensation / Every drop in me gushes in your direction," she repeats. Then the rhythm starts to bounce like an unhinged rubber ball. The original lyrics "But nothing can stop this" become chopped and shortened into rapid waves with the result being a fluttering delivery seemingly transformed into the persisting declaration: "Can't stop this." Please, don't.
