The Smile's much-anticipated US tour kicked off in Boston last week, before hitting New York for two dates at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn and one night at The Manhattan Center's Hammerstein Ballroom. Fans lined up around the block in the freezing cold before packing the Hammerstein wall to wall on Sunday night to catch Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner.
The band played nearly all of their sole album A Light for Attracting Attention, along with a few new songs they've been debuting on this tour. Skinner displayed why he's one of the most revered drummers of the moment while Yorke and Greenwood proved frenetic as ever, both of them appearing genuinely rejuvenated.
