This past spring, Nilüfer Yanya released her captivating sophomore album PAINLESS. If you've been hoping for any remixes of the album highlight "midnight sun," you're in luck—today the musician shared reworks of the track by Sampha and King Krule, which will be part of the album's deluxe edition coming out December 14 via ATO Records. The new version will also include three album tracks reimagined with producer Will Archer, as well as a cover of PJ Harvey's "Rid of Me."

With their contributions, King Krule and Sampha add their signatures to "midnight sun" while maintaining Yanya's sharp tone of resistance. The former's remix adds a sense of steely urgency to Yanya's soulful vocals with cutting synths, high-pitched backing vocals, and glitchy drums. The latter gives the rebellious anthem a languid trip-hop makeover.

Yanya shared her excitement about the deluxe version: "I’m honestly so glad so many of you listened to PAINLESS when it first came out nine months ago, so I’m very happy to be able to offer you the deluxe version with two new remixes of 'midnight sun' and my cover of 'rid of me.'"
