Over the course of two albums released in consecutive years, EKKSTACY has covered multiple decades in alt-rock, from the chilly post-punk and upbeat jangle pop movements of the ’80s to the pop-punk and emo sounds that were popular in the ’00s when the songwriter was just a kid. Even before releasing MISERY last September, a featured spot on HEALTH’s latest DISCO compilation foreshadowed just how deep into genre-eschwing experimentation he intended the new project to venture.
With that album now out in the world, EKKSTACY will be joining FLOOD FM as the host of the first installment of “Hacked” this year, with his episode running today, January 9, through Friday the 13th at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT daily. His eclectic DJ set includes everything from Le Tigre to Agent Orange, and Ceremony to The Radio Dept. Tune in here to listen.
