In 2018, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus joined forces to share their debut EP as boygenius. Today, they've returned with news of their debut album titled the record and three new singles from the release: "$20," "Emily I'm Sorry," and "True Blue." the record, which is out March 31 via Interscope, was produced and written by the group and recorded at Shangri-La studio in Malibu, California.

Bridgers sent Dacus and Baker a demo of "Emily I'm Sorry" a week after her 2020 solo LP Punisher came out. The album was recorded in January 2022, with the trio coming together for a month of 10-hour studio days. “We are all at least one type of the same psycho," Baker said of the trio's intensive recording sessions. "The Venn diagrams overlap in ‘Every day for a month.’”

The three singles give us three varied shades of love, remorse, and freedom. It's hard to choose an immediate favorite, all three writers enhancing the other's pen. Check out the earful below.
