New York's Yours Are the Only Ears are coming out with a new album. The Susannah Cutler–helmed project is releasing We Know the Sky, the follow-up to 2018's Knock Hard, on March 24 via Lame-O Records. Today, she shared the news with the single "Dreamer."

The new track feels like a shimmering folk-leaning rock balm led by Cutler's silver-lined vocals. But the heart of "Dreamer" is a bit shadowy, discussing how reality doesn't fit the fantasy. "I forget how to fly / When you talk I close my eyes / Imagine all the ways I lie / Just to keep this alive," goes one revealing line. Cutler packages hard realizations and the power of musical actualization ("I’ll be strong tomorrow / Tonight I’ll just sing my song / There is not more to talk about, I said it all along") into three minutes of cloud-clearing brilliance.

“‘Dreamer’ is about waking up to the realization that you need to move on from a painful relationship,” Cutler explained. “When someone isn't able to see how their behavior hurts you, it's OK to let go of them and trust that there's something better out there for you. However, moving on and reckoning with the parts of yourself that you've denied can be equally painful. This song is about that process and learning to trust yourself.”
