Austin City Limits kicked off the second half of their 48th season on January 7, with the latest ACL hall of fame inductee Sheryl Crow joined by a notable slate of guest musicians, including Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, and Lucius. And the season hasn’t lost steam since then—Nathaniel Rateliff, The Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada, and The War on Drugs have all taken the stage since. This weekend will see another can’t-miss set from the recently reunited slacker-rock purveyors Pavement, whose October 2022 set will be broadcast this Saturday at 5 p.m. PT for the episode’s full hour.

Before then, we’re getting an exclusive sneak peek at the episode with a clip of the band tearing through “Unfair” from their iconic 1994 release Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. With Bob Nastanovich amping up the track’s punk-rock energy with a shouty vocal performance over Stephen Malkmus’ more subdued singing, I can’t say I’ve ever seen the crowd at The Moody Theater get this hyped before. Check it out below, and find the band’s track list on ACL’s site here.
