Last November, Dana Buoy released their third studio album Experiments in Plant Based Music Vol. 1, a naturalistic exploration of psychedelic, jazz, and electronic sounds helmed by co-founding Akron/Family member Dana Janssen. The project further explored the eclectic spaces Janssen waded into on his debut Summer Bodies, which landed in 2012 on the cusp of Akron/Family’s final studio recording, this time around seeming more focused on the various sonic avenues that will almost certainly beget further experiments in plant-based music.

In the meantime, Janssen brought his full band to a riverside performance of the late-album track “Eyes of the World” for a recent “Neighborhoods” set. With paddle boarders coasting by the band set up on a floating house, the five-piece manage to reproduce the track with as much peacefulness and harmony as the acoustic-strummed original.
