Last month, Dallas-based songwriter DAMOYEE introduced the next chapter of her career with the upbeat and lovelorn single “BICY (Boy I’m Craving You),” the first of two pre-Valentine’s Day singles about trying to hold onto optimism while missing someone special. While there’s no word yet on an impending album from the Berklee-trained musician and TikTok presence, the singles promise something great may very well be in the pipeline.
For her “Neighborhoods” session, DAMOYEE performed a more stripped-back and intimate version of “BICY” in Dallas’ arts district. With the pulsing instrumental of the recording swapped for minimal keyboards, the live performance puts the spotlight on DAMOYEE’s vocals, capturing the yearning of the song’s lyrics.
