Later this week, French-Cuban twin sisters Lisa and Naomi Diaz will take their tour promoting their latest album as Ibeyi, last year’s Spell 31, to the East Coast, with performances in Brooklyn, Boston, Philly, and DC spilling into next week. With guest spots from Jorja Smith and Pa Salieu, as well as an interpolation of Black Flag’s “Rise Above” featuring BERWYN, the LP owes much of its appeal to the sisters’ taste in collaborators and influences.
To speak a bit more to the latter, we had the duo stop by the FLOOD FM studios to record a brand new episode of “Hacked,” with the Diaz sisters landing on a setlist that includes artists ranging from Tame Impala to OutKast, Frank Ocean to Sade.
